Hi everyone! Unfortunately our team got spread a little thin this week by beginning-of-the-year department/club/job meetings, so we had to cancel Tuesday's lesson. Fear not though! To make up for it we have scheduled an extra beginner lesson for this Thursday to give new members another opportunity to try out polo.
Hi everyone! It was great meeting you all at the Involvement Fair today. We'll be sending out an informational e-mail to everyone that signed up at our booth later tonight.
In case you couldn't make it to the club fair, or want to ask questions in further detail, we'll be holding a quick info session in front of Tommy Trojan this upcoming Friday at 12:30pm. See you there!
Hello fellow Trojans! Looking to add an extracurricular to your schedule? Well look no further than the Fall Involvement Fair, happening this Wednesday August 27th along Trousdale from 11:00-2:00pm! It's a great opportunity to meet the fantastic variety of clubs, organizations, and miscellaneous groups our campus has to offer.
We'll be hanging out at the USC Polo Club table with all the other sports clubs along the fountain path in Alumni Park. Feel free to stop by if you have a question, want to add your name to our mailing list, or even if you just want to meet us and take a selfie in a polo helmet (yes we've actually had that happen!).
Welcome back everyone! Hopefully you're all excited for your first day of classes next week. If not, well there's always polo to look forward to!
We've made a few adjustments this semester in an effort to make our club more efficient.
First, club lessons are going to be held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays this Fall, and team practices will be on Thursdays and Fridays. The calendar has been adjusted accordingly, and barring any unforeseen scheduling conflicts with Susu and Ardeshir, is ready for sign-ups.
Secondly, we've decided to revamp our system for paying dues. The good news is, we'll be LOWERING our semesterly dues from $800 to $300! The trade-off is that from now on everyone will be covering their own horse fees by paying $40 per lesson (which is still really cheap for polo!). This is in part to a) allow people that want to play casually to enjoy polo and b) make sure no one member is eating us out of house and home as was frequently happening with our all-you-can-polo flat rate.
Drivers will still get their $5 reimbursement per trip, and volunteers who help out at club lessons will continue to ride for free.
Hey everyone! Another great polo event is coming up near LA. This time it's a fundraiser benefitting St. Jude's Children's Hospital at CPC this Saturday. Check it out:
Hello again, everyone! Long time no see. One of our alumni is hosting a polo event in Temecula this weekend and has cordially invited everyone from USC Polo to come. It looks like fun, so do drop by if you're in the neighborhood!
As some of you may or may not know, Barbara has technically been studying abroad this semester (although she's been very present at polo practice)! Now that she's actually leaving, Cory is going to be stepping up as reigning president from here on out, so you can expect to start getting the group texts and e-mails from her.
If for some reason you still have any questions, grievances, emergencies, etc. (or you just want to chat) Barbara can still be reached in Tokyo via her personal e-mail BarbaraNBlumenthal@gmail.com or on the LINE texting app available on all smart phones.
Our season is officially over now, wrapping up with a win against Westmont and a loss to Cal Poly at regionals! We're very proud of our women for working hard all season and coming as far as they did.
Here's to another great season next year!
